From the Principal...

Dear Churchill Families,

As we approach the end of the semester, I want to take a moment to share a few important updates and celebrations from our school community.

First, with the semester coming to a close, grades will soon be finalized and placed on student transcripts. This time of year often brings questions about grades and possible opportunities to improve them. Students should understand that reaching out to teachers about extra credit or last-minute options may result in mixed responses. If a student has struggled with procrastination throughout the semester, a grade can be difficult to salvage at this point. However, for students who are on the cusp of passing, the final week is an excellent time to connect with their teacher, ask questions, and clarify expectations. We always encourage proactive communication and accountability.

On a another note, we had an amazing career fair this week! It was wonderful to see so many students engaging in meaningful conversations with representatives from various organizations and industries about life after high school. We love seeing students think about their futures and explore what’s possible beyond graduation.

I encourage families to have open, non-stressful conversations with your students about their interests and future goals. Exploration is key—students often gravitate toward careers they’ve been exposed to, so the more opportunities they have to learn about different paths, the better. Curiosity and exploration now can lead to confidence and direction later.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we finish the semester strong.

Go, Lancers!

Keep working hard as we end Semester 1 – we’re almost there!

It's time for students to review their Semester 2 schedules in StudentVue. Things to consider:

  1. Are you in the correct courses?
  2. Do you have what you need for graduation?
  3. If you’re involved in athletics, are you meeting eligibility requirements?
  4. Are you taking the courses you need to meet your goals for life after high school?

Seniors – if you are attending further schooling after high school, it’s important to double check that you are meeting admissions requirements.

Schedule correction forms should be posted early next week on the CHS website. Once the correction form is posted, all students should submit their Semester 2 corrections using the form. Students will need to complete this form using their 4J email address.

Relief Nursery Community Resource Guide

Our community is rich with resources and skilled, compassionate providers. Our hope is that this guide will be a support to families as they navigate systems and access services. At this time, Relief Nursery is not able to translate the entire Resource Guide into Spanish, though we recognize the need and hope to pursue that project in the future. The Resource Guide includes some Spanish language translation, particularly in the areas that specifically focus on serving Hispanic and Latino clients, English as a Second Language classes, and Immigration and Migrant services.
