Parent Letter

Hello, Parents of Senior Students,

Every year the parents of graduating seniors provide a safe and sober graduation party for the seniors as a gift to them for their accomplishments and a kick-off into the next chapter of their lives. This is not a school-sponsored event, so it takes all of us working together and involving community partners to make the event possible.

This year’s graduation is on Monday, June 12, at 7 pm, at the Hult Center. The graduation party will be the same evening following graduation (time to be announced soon) at the University of Oregon Rec Center. The parents of junior students will be asked to volunteer and work at the event. There will be lots of amazing prizes, games, food, and activities. The goal is to provide these students with a memorable evening, connecting with fellow classmates before adulthood really begins, and they go their separate ways into life.

We need assistance from parents to gather raffle prizes, make phone calls, and schedule vendors, to organize donations, and to help with decorations for the event. Attached is a Signup Genius of some of the items we need assistance gathering or calls to be made. You do not need a Signup Genius account to access the form. If you are able to donate a portion of your time to the committee and can assume responsibility for a listed task, we would be very grateful.

We have several upcoming fundraising opportunities –

  • Senior Sports Programs – we began offering sports programs for each sport season. The varsity teams and senior athletes specifically are highlighted. Ads purchased benefit the Senior Class and profits from book sales go toward the CHS Athletic Program. Please consider purchasing a business, or private ad for your student-athlete in the upcoming Spring Program. Ads are due by February 28th via email.
  • Our February fundraiser is the Territorial Seed Sale. Please share the attached product guide and order form with family, coworkers, and friends. Orders should be submitted to our email, delivered to the school front office, or given to a committee member, by Feb. 28th, 3 pm. Cash, check, or Venmo please, and include your contact information on the order form. – see email attachments
  • We have some pesky red/white/blue flamingos making their debut in people’s yards over the next few months. If you have the name and address of someone you would like “flocked” please email us. Please be advised they should have a good sense of humor and a willingness to support our Senior Class? You’ve Been Flocked! will be in effect from March until June.
  • In May, we will be selling Mother’s Day 12” Hanging Flower Baskets. More information is forthcoming about that event. Preorder sales and on-site sales will be available.

If you would like to simply donate funds to sponsor a raffle basket, pay for prizes, or sponsor a student’s entry to the event, we would appreciate any assistance. Use the Venmo code, send cash or check to the school office, or contact one of the committee members for donation payment arrangements. We are a non-profit, parent-sponsored event.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
