Churchill Families,
Fall Festival & Leadership Shoutout
What a fantastic end to the week! Our Leadership team did an outstanding job organizing and putting on an amazing Fall Festival for the entire school. It was wonderful to see so many creative, fun, and thoughtful costumes from our students. Their creativity truly made the event special!
Looking Ahead to November: Attendance Matters
As we transition into November, we want to emphasize how critical regular school attendance is to your student's overall success.
With progress reports coming out soon, our data and experience show that the primary reason a student struggles academically or falls behind is missed class time. Being present in the classroom allows students to:
- Hear direct instruction and key explanations from teachers.
- Stay clear on daily expectations, assignments, and goals.
- Engage in collaborative learning and ask clarifying questions in real time.
Please take a moment to check in with your child about their daily routines, schoolwork, and attendance. If you ever have questions, concerns, or need support with your student’s progress, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Freshmen parents, most kids are doing great, but there is a good chunk who are skipping and not attending consistently. Please check your kid's attendance, as freshman year is so important for staying on track to graduate.

If your student will be missing three or more days of school, please complete and submit a Pre-Arranged Absence Form in advance.
The form must be signed by a parent or guardian and then submitted to the principal for approval. Once the principal has signed the form, the student will need to take it to their teachers to obtain the required signatures. Please allow two school days for the approval and signature process.
You or your student can obtain the form in one of two ways:
Pick up a paper copy from our front office.
Access the fillable form on the Churchill High School website by following these steps:
- Click on Students & Parents at the top of the homepage.
- Select Forms.
- Navigate to the Pre-Arranged Absence Form.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the process, please don't hesitate to call the Attendance Office at 541-790-5103.
Thank you for helping us ensure that planned absences are communicated and approved in a timely manner!
