Dear Churchill Families,
With current budget constraints, many families have asked how they can directly support our school and students in need. We always have an ongoing need to help provide students with essential items, including school supplies, food, hygiene products, and clothing.
If you are in a position to give and would like to help, donations can always be made through SchoolPay or by stopping by our front office. Please know that there is absolutely no pressure to donate; we simply wanted to ensure our community knows this option is always available for those who wish to contribute. Every bit of support makes a direct impact on our students.
Staying Connected & Direct Academic Outreach
Our staff is dedicated to ensuring you have full visibility into your student's academic journey:
Canvas (Best Source for Information): Canvas is our primary tool for checking grades, viewing upcoming and completed assignments, and keeping up with classroom progress. We strongly encourage all families to set up and log in to their accounts. You can visit 4j.lane.edu/canvas for a step-by-step guide on how to log in and navigate the platform.
Direct Email & Grade Communication: Beyond Canvas, our teachers and staff are always accessible via email if you ever have specific questions or concerns about your student. To ensure families are kept informed, our teachers have been asked to directly reach out to all families of students who currently have an F in their class so that we can work together on a plan for support.
Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and involvement in our school community. We hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
Go, Lancers!

Churchill High School's own Stacey Morris spent 16 days at sea aboard the NOAA Ship Reuben Lasker this summer, participating in a West Coast fisheries survey through NOAA’s Teacher at Sea program. She plans to bring this transformative research experience back into her classroom to engage students in real-world marine science!
“Through my experience with NOAA, my students will not only be able to learn first-hand about exciting research projects at sea, they will be witnesses to them, and on some level, participants in them,” says Morris. “Making their learning relevant through my own hands-on experiences is vital to getting students excited about science.”
NOAA’s mission is to understand and predict changes in the Earth's environment, from the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun, and to conserve and manage our coastal and marine resources. Join us on Facebook and Instagram.
