Welcome to the May 1 edition of Graduation at a G’Lance! This is the final full month for the class of 2026.
This is the month where planning turns into "participating." From the first publication of our Graduation Checklist today to the opening of the mandatory Senior Survey on Monday, the momentum is building. Our goal this month is to help every senior cross those final administrative hurdles so they can focus on the celebration ahead.
Whether you are tracking down community service hours or counting down the days until cap and gown pickup, we are here to help you navigate the home stretch.
With PRIDE,
Churchill Graduation Committee

Students must be cleared on the Graduation Checklist before they can pick up graduation tickets or participate in the graduation ceremony.
The Graduation Checklist shows each student’s progress toward graduation. A check mark in a column means that your requirements for that specific area are complete. To protect student privacy, the checklist is published by student number. You can find your student number on your most recent report card or in ParentVUE/StudentVUE.
-
Where to Find It: The checklist will be published weekly in this newsletter, posted in the front office, and available on the CHS Graduation Page.
-
Updates: Please note that this is not a live document; it is refreshed weekly. For a "live" update on your specific status between Fridays, students are welcome to check in with their counselor.
NOTE: NO STUDENTS ARE CLEARED YET. The Graduation Survey will not be available until Monday. This column will be checked off as students complete the survey.
|
The finish line is in sight, but there is one "pit stop" every senior must make. The Mandatory Graduation Survey opens this Monday, May 4.
-
Why it matters: This is how you tell us where to send your final transcripts and share your post-high school plans.
-
The Link: Students should check their 4J school email on Monday morning for the link to the form.
-
The Deadline: Please have this completed by Friday, May 15.
Note: Completing this survey is a requirement to be cleared for ticket pickup, so checking this off your list early is a smart move!
|
Distribution starts May 11
-
Tickets are Free: There is no cost for graduation tickets.
-
The Cap: Each student can receive up to 14 tickets.
-
Request Everything in Phase 1: Please make sure to request the total number of tickets you need (up to 14) during this first round of distribution.
-
Pick-up Protocol: Tickets are distributed directly to the student and only during student lunch.
-
Clearing the Checklist: Remember, students must be cleared on the Graduation Checklist (no outstanding fees, fines, or missing requirements) before they can pick up their tickets.
Phase 1: Initial Pickup & Requests (May 11 – May 22) During this window, cleared students can pick up their first 6 tickets in Jill’s office (located in the Front Office). While there, they should also submit their request for any additional tickets they need, up to a total of 14.
Phase 2: Extra Ticket Pickup (May 26 – June 5) Students can return to Jill’s office to pick up the extra tickets they requested in Phase 1. Students who were recently cleared on the checklist can also request up to 14 tickets during this time, while supplies last.
Early Grads & Alternative Programs: For early grads and students in ECCO, GED, or EOA programs who are not on campus during the day, we want to make sure you get your tickets! If our lunchtime doesn't work for your schedule, please email Jill Reents at reents_ji@4j.lane.edu after May 11 to submit your request and arrange an alternate pickup time.

The Grad Party is a long-standing tradition providing seniors with a safe, sober, and fun graduation celebration. It is only possible because of the dedicated parent volunteers who put it together.
Why Would My Student Want to Attend?
One final celebration with their classmates! There will be a DJ rocking the latest hits, sprinkled with Karaoke, various activities such as the fan favorite Casino Night (various casino games and horse races), CASH WALK, Gymnasium Activities (basketball, dodgeball, pickleball), Rock Climbing, Hair Tinsel/Glitter Tattoos, Jousting Arena, Swimming Pool, and much more! Food and beverages are provided, such as DUTCH BROS, Papas Pizza, Nothing Bunt Cakes, etc... There will be CASH PRIZES throughout the night (last year over $6,000), plus 40+ Raffle Baskets and GRAND PRIZES to win! Past prizes include: TV's, Tablets, Smart Watches, e-Bikes, Scooters, Paddle Boards and amazing theme-inspired baskets like: Movie Night, Girls/Boys Dorm Essentials, Care Kits, Camping, etc... so the better question would be, Why Wouldn't My Student Attend?
How Do I Get Involved?
Volunteers are NEEDED! As mentioned, this event is put on solely by volunteers and paid for through fundraising and donations. We need as many people as we can get to help! It's not hard, or overly time consuming. Let's work together to have the most epic party and help our students celebrate their success!
Additionally, we are a 501c3 Non-Profit entity, operating through Lancer Legacy. Therefore, donations are tax-deductible. We accept cash, checks, and have a business Venmo for donations or fundraiser payments.

Senior year can be expensive: caps and gowns, graduation announcements, Prom, the grad party, and so much more. Don't let finances keep you from participating in all of your senior year activities. Financial assistance is available. Ask at the front office, your counselor, or any teacher or staff member. We can help.
