From the Principal...

Dear Churchill Families,

What a full and memorable week at Churchill! We experienced the return of rain followed by welcome sunshine. As we move into Week 5 of Semester 2, momentum is building across campus.

Our seniors are actively planning their next steps, with counselors hard at work supporting graduation plans. Winter athletics teams are wrapping up their seasons, and we’re looking ahead to an exciting spring filled with learning, activities, testing, and celebrations.

We’re also incredibly proud of our Black Student Union (BSU) for leading an inspiring Black History and Spirit Week, highlighted by Friday’s powerful assembly. Special thanks to Gene Chism, whose compassionate leadership continues to uplift and empower students throughout our school community.

A huge congratulations to Alexis Lewis, from our alt-ed/GED program, for being named 2026 Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley. This prestigious honor recognizes exceptional leadership, academic commitment, and positive community impact. We celebrate Alexis’s dedication and the example she sets for others.

Families, thank you for your continued partnership. We are grateful for our students, staff, and community. Let’s keep up the strong attendance and engagement. Together, we are making a huge impact and difference on a daily basis. We could share so, so much more, but these are some of the great moments in Lancer Land this past week. More to come...and let's continue being present, growing, learning, and collaborating as a team.

Partner with the CHS CTE Health Services Pathway!

The CTE Health Services Pathway at Churchill High School prepares students to explore and enter the medical profession. We are currently seeking parents, community members, and local healthcare professionals to support our future medical workers in three key ways:
  • Host a Senior Job Shadow (Our Primary Need): We are looking for clinicians willing to host a senior student for a one-day, observation-only (hands-off) job shadow before the end of May. Our seniors are highly prepared: they are HIPAA compliant, BLS certified, fluent in medical terminology, and trained in standard precautions. High-demand fields: Dental, Physical Therapy, Pediatrics, Nursing, Surgery (any), EMS, and Veterinary Services.
  • Serve as a Guest Clinical Validator: Join us in the classroom to observe and provide feedback on student skill demonstrations. Zero preparation is required—just show up and share your expertise! Upcoming unit needs (Feb/March): Wound Care, EMS, Physical Therapy, and Dental.
  • Donate Medical Supplies: We happily accept donations of surplus medical supplies to support our hands-on classroom simulations.
If you would like to volunteer as a clinical partner, donate supplies, or connect us with a clinician or facility that could help, please contact Keri Pilgrim at pilgrim_k@4j.lane.edu
