This edition of Graduation at a G'Lance is focused on immediate action! The end of the year brings important deadlines for ordering your cap and gown, and the upcoming yearbook price increase. Plus, we've included important college financial aid and AP exam fee details.

Senior year can be expensive: caps and gowns, graduation announcements, Prom, the grad party, and so much more. Don't let finances keep you from participating in all of your senior year activities. It's time to place your orders for the Class of 2026 Graduation! To ensure your student is ready for the ceremony, please place your cap and gown order through Miners Graduate Services before Winter Break ends.
Students return to classes on Tuesday, January 6, and Wednesday, January 7 is the final day to order caps and gowns and receive the special bulk discount. Orders placed after this date may be subject to additional fees and potential shipping delays.

Let's make the Class of 2026 yearbook the best one yet! Below are the key dates for ordering the yearbook at the lowest price, and submitting the special items—like portraits, quotes, and dedications—that make the senior section memorable.
☃️ December Deadlines - Yearbook Price Increase: Don't wait! The current price of the yearbook will increase at the end of December. Buy today for $65 in the front office or pay online to lock in the lowest price.
- Dedications & Baby Photos Due: Send your dedications and baby photos to bennett_ja@4j.lane.edu by the end of December.
❄️ January Deadlines & Proofs - Senior Quotes Due: January 29.
- Dedications & Baby Photos Proofs: Expect to receive a proof for your submitted dedications and baby photos. We will try to make links to the proofs available. If you don't see a link, please reach out and ask!
💘 February Deadline - Senior Portraits Due: Due by Valentine's Day (February 14th). Remember to view a proof of the portrait you plan to submit.

Seniors - join us for our first annual CHS alumni panel. This is a chance to hear from recent graduates about their journey navigating life after high school. The panel will be held on Thursday, December 18, during Advisory. |
Planning on obtaining Honors Diploma recognition? The hours logs are due at the end of January. See your School Counselor if you have any questions. Logs are due to Kari Ludington, School Counselor, by January 30, 2026 (No-School Day, Semester 1 Grading Day. |
Winter Break is a great time for Seniors to work on their scholarship essays!
Oregon Student Aid - On the application, please click the box that says your school will upload your transcript. Transcripts will be bulk-loaded to OSAC between February 5th and February 7th, after semester 1 grades have been processed.
- Oregon Promise - All applicants, your GPAs will be verified by CHS between February 5th and February 7th, after semester 1 grades have been processed.
Individual colleges and universities Search the websites of colleges or universities you want to attend for institutional scholarships.
Lane Foundation For students attending Lane Community College for at least 6 credits per term.
The application for the 2026-2027 academic year will open in early January 2026. The 2026-2027 application deadline will be March 3, 2026, at 11:59 pm.
Xello Go to your Xello account and find Scholarships under the Plan menu, then search for local and national scholarships. Quick Xello access: sign into Canvas, click on any course, then look at the menu on the left and click on the Xello link. |
Decision Notification for those who applied to Willamette U
Early Action and Early Decision applicants who ensured all required materials - including an official transcript, School Report, and Counselor Recommendation - were received on time can log in to their Willamette Applicant Portal to view their decision after 4:00 p.m. Pacific on Friday, December 12. Instructions on how to access the Willamette Applicant Portal were provided to students once their application was received, and will also be included in the decision notification email. We appreciate that 80 percent of our early applicants have set up and accessed their Willamette Applicant Portal. In addition to the digital release, all applicants will receive a decision via postal mail to the home address on file. |

The Grad Party is a long-standing tradition providing seniors with a safe, sober, and fun graduation celebration. It is only possible because of the dedicated parent volunteers who put it together.
WHEN: Monday, June 8th (graduation night) TIME: 11:00 pm – 3:00 am WHERE: UofO Recreation Center WHO: Class of 2026, CHS Students only
Why Would My Student Want to Attend? One final celebration with their classmates! There will be a DJ rocking the latest hits, sprinkled with Karaoke, various activities such as the fan favorite Casino Night (various casino games and horse races), CASH WALK, Gymnasium Activities (basketball, dodgeball, pickleball), Rock Climbing, Hair Tinsel/Glitter Tattoos, Jousting Arena, Swimming Pool, and much more! Food and beverages are provided, such as DUTCH BROS, Papas Pizza, Nothing Bunt Cakes, etc... There will be CASH PRIZES throughout the night (last year over $6,000), plus 40+ Raffle Baskets and GRAND PRIZES to win! Past prizes include: TV's, Tablets, Smart Watches, e-Bikes, Scooters, Paddle Boards and amazing theme-inspired baskets like: Movie Night, Girls/Boys Dorm Essentials, Care Kits, Camping, etc... so the better question would be, Why Wouldn't My Student Attend?
How Do I Get Involved? Volunteers are NEEDED! As mentioned, this event is put on solely by volunteers and paid for through fundraising and donations. We need as many people as we can get to help! It's not hard, or overly time consuming. Let's work together to have the most epic party and help our students celebrate their success! Additionally, we are a 501c3 Non-Profit entity, operating through Lancer Legacy. Therefore, donations are tax-deductible. We accept cash, checks, and have a business Venmo for donations or fundraiser payments.
