Family Bulletin, March 24, 2023
Dear Lancer Families,
Happy Spring Break!! I hope you all are able to take some time to rest, relax and refresh this week. Once we get back from Spring Break, the trimester will fly by, and before you know it we will be in June getting ready to graduate our senior class, and wrapping up the school year!
Hopefully, the first week of third trimester went smoothly and you and your student are feeling prepared and ready to finish the year strong. If you still have questions or concerns about classes, please sign-up to talk to your school counselor when we return from break. If your student is a senior, I would encourage you to have them also check-in with their school counselor to make sure they are on-track to graduate, have finished their LEAP, and have set up their LEAP interview. We will be having a Senior meeting at school soon, and a Graduation Information Night (April 6th), to make sure we get those graduation questions answered. Be on the look out for more information to come via email, announcements, and mailings.
Again, I hope you all have a great Spring Break and are able to relax and take a well-needed break from school to refresh and recharge.
Go Lancers!

Taking Care of School Laptops
On Spring Break!
Dos and Don’ts
Do…
- store the laptop in a secure place where it will not be disturbed by people or pets, and it is out of sight of potential thieves. (examples: in your school locker; on a flat, stable surface like a desk; in a drawer)
- use the laptop sleeve to keep the laptop safe whenever you are not using or charging the laptop.
- keep all liquids and food 6 feet away from the laptop.
- charge the laptop for a couple of hours on the last day before returning to classes.
Don’t…
- take your student laptop out of the Eugene area.
- stack items on top of the laptop.
- eat or drink near the laptop.
- leave the charger connected to the laptop for long periods of time, or while you are away.
Some notes from our Registrar
Welcome back! Now that Spring Break is over, let’s review some helpful tips for T3:
1. Schedule Changes – Students had the first 3 days of the term to request a schedule change and were instructed to attend their current classes in StudentVUE and to check their student emails for counselor updates/questions to their requests. Going forward, students will need to reach out to their counselor to see if a schedule change is still an option. Students have the first 15 days of the term to drop a class without a withdrawal form, any class dropped after this deadline will need paperwork and result in a WD being added to your student’s transcript. Please reach out to our scheduler or registrar for more information.
2. Is your student missing school today? Make sure to contact us to let us know. If your student is coming to school late or needs to be pulled from class early, call the front office at 541-790-5100. If your student is going to be out for the whole day, make sure to call our attendance line at 541-790-5102.
3. ParentVUE and CANVAS – These two accounts collectively give you access to your student’s attendance, grades, class schedule, homework assignments and more! If you need help with setting up these parent accounts, please reach out to our registrar, Dorothy Catanese, and she can send you your own unique codes along with easy-to-follow steps to activate each account. The best way for her to share this information is via email so please send requests to catanese_d@4j.lane.edu. If you are needing assistance in person, please call her at 541-790-5108 to make an appointment before coming to the school.
4. Student IDs – Every student is required to have a student ID on their person while they are on campus. If your student does not have one, please have them check in the attendance office before school, at lunch, after school or during a free period on their schedule for assistance.
