March is Women’s Her-Story Month
Barbara Askins was employed as a physical chemist by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. However, she is best known for inventing the autoradiograph and becoming the first woman in 1978 to be named Inventor of the Year by the Association for the Advancement of Inventions and Innovations.
Trans Day of Visibility
Churchill’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance is celebrating Trans Visibility Day on Wednesday, April 5th! Come to school wearing the colors of the Trans flag: pink, blue, and white to show your support. Make sure to stop by the planters at lunch to get your face painted and grab a bracelet and pronoun pin while you’re at it!
LEAP Deadline
Seniors, your LEAP packet and interview are due the week of April 10th, 2023. Use your spring break to finish up your hours and complete the packet. Appointments for the LEAP interview are open. Check out the TV monitors by the planters and career and college center for the slide with the QR code or check your nearest drinking faucet for a nearby LEAP poster with the QR code.
Next Step Electronics Recycling Competition
Drop off your old electronics in front of STEM 105 between April 3-7 to help CHS compete in an electronic recycling competition. This includes old laptops, phones, phone chargers, and more.
CHS Intramural Volleyball
Churchill’s very own March Madness… In April! We will be hosting an intramural volleyball tournament during lunch on April 10–14. Team sign-ups are happening this week during lunch at the planters. Grab some friends and sign up to compete. Free! There will be a prize for the winning team. Luck? You don’t need luck, you trained for this!
