Canned Food Drive
Attention all students! The holiday season is here, and that means it’s time for delicious meals. Please help Churchill in showing a little kindness to make sure every family in Lane County has food this Thanksgiving and donate your cans to the canned food drive. There will be boxes around the school to drop cans in. Sheldon, Churchill, and South are all competing for the grand trophy, so let’s get our cans in to win the food drive and help out our community!
Winter athletics start Monday, November 12th. Boys Basketball 9:30am-Noon, Girls Basketball 3-5:30 pm, Wrestling 4-6 pm, & Swimming starts on Tuesday, Nov. 13th 4:30-6:30 pm. Van leaves jock lot at 4 pm. To participate you must register on Family ID, have a current physical, and pay your fees in the front office or online with a credit card. No students are allowed to participate in practices without being cleared on Family ID with a current physical and payment of fees.

LCC Placement Testing for seniors going to Lane Community College next year will be Monday, November 19, 3:45 pm, in STEM 118. You must bring a current photo ID and your “L” number. If you do not have your “L” number, see Mary Beth in the STEM building office as soon as possible. Check your email for Information on how to access practice tests.
Attention Seniors — LEAP Day Is Thursday, November 29. Bring your completed LEAP packet to the Career Center and interview with Mary Beth to finish this graduation requirement early!
9th Graders – If you are interested in being a Lancer Pageant coordinator, come to the informational meeting at lunch tomorrow in F39.
Lancers, this weekend is your last opportunity to see CHS Drama’s production of the hilarious comedy, The Man Who Came to Dinner. Final show nights are tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can be bought from cast members or at the door.
Homework Club is available after school today & Thursday from 3:45-4:45 pm in F36.
The CHS Co-Ed Ultimate Frisbee team practices today from 4:30-6 pm on the fields adjacent to Kennedy MS.
Community Service Opportunity
Community Emergency Response Team – Volunteer to be a victim for the Community Emergency Response team, Saturday, November 10th, 8:00-12:00.
Lane County Volunteer Firefighters – Volunteers 16 years and older are needed to protect life and property through firefighting and EMS activities. Training through an 11-week academy and then volunteers will be assigned a 14-hour shift every 6th day at one of two staffed stations.
Festival of Trees – Scheduled over six days during Thanksgiving week at Valley River Inn. Volunteers are needed for set up/takedown, working in some of the children’s areas, the raffle tree, roving, & greeters/ticket takers.
Eugene Comic Con -Saturday, November 10th and Sunday, November 11th – Volunteers are needed to help kids make paper rockets for a rocket launcher and flying objects for a wind tunnel. Shifts are 4 hours but you can go early or stay late to enjoy the fun.

The Lady Lancers Girls Soccer Team advanced to the Championship game by defeating Corvallis in an overtime penalty kick shootout last night. Congratulations to these girls and coaches. They will play this Saturday at Hillsboro Stadium vs. Crescent Valley. Time to be announced.
Friday – Churchill Varsity Football hosts the Thurston Colts in a quarter-final game. Come and support your Lancers.
