African Fact of the Day

Ubah Ali is a social activist and feminist from Somaliland, who campaigns against female genital mutilation. In 2020 she was listed by the BBC as of the world’s most Influential 100 Women.

BSU

African Day is this Friday. To celebrate and show support, all students are encouraged to wear formal attire and African students are encouraged to wear traditional African clothing. After school on Friday in the courtyard there will be music, food and games to play!

Youth Action Council

YAC is hosting today’s mental health event during lunch in the courtyard. Come interact with one of our health center therapists, complete with a little humor. There will also be coloring and balloons!

On Friday, YAC is hosting lunchtime with Luna, a certified therapy dog. You will need to wear a mask when close to Luna. Masks will be provided.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks will be here any day! Pre-order yours now so you don’t miss out! The price is $65 for this year’s book by itself. If you purchased last year’s book, you get the discount bundle price of $35 for this year’s book, and if you buy last year’s and this year’s books together, you get them both for the bundled price of $100! Purchasing can be done on School Pay – avoid the hassle and do it now!

Unified Basketball Game

The Unified Basketball team will play tomorrow night at 6:30pm in the CHS gym. You won’t want to miss it!

CHS Library

The library will be closed tomorrow morning during 1st, 2nd and 3rd periods. Please plan ahead if you have a free period or if you need a book. The library will be open tomorrow before school, during lunch and in the afternoon.

AVID 9

AVID 9 is putting on a 15th Night Fundraiser car wash on Saturday, June 4th from 10 am–1 pm. Advance tickets are on sale today and tomorrow for $10 at lunch.

Lancer Pageant

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The 2022 Lancer Pageant tickets are on sale now at lunch at the planters. Come join us on Friday, June 3rd at 7pm in the auditorium for a night of fun, dancing, games, and raising money for CMN. Don’t miss who will be crowned our Lancer Pageant Royalty!

W.I.S.E. Symposium

Today, by the end of lunch, is the deadline to register for the W.I.S.E. Symposium.  You can register by using the QR code or the link address located at the planters in the student lounge or in the cafeteria, or on any WISE poster. Learn about the role of sea otters in restoring our ocean ecology, plus more climate change-related workshops.

El día afro-americano será este viernes. Para celebrar y demostrar su apoyo, se les pide que usen sus atuendos formales y se alienta a los estudiantes africanos a usar sus atuendos tradicionales. ¡También habrá comida, música y juegos después de escuela!

Consejo de Acción Juvenil (YAC)

YAC estará anfitrionando el evento de HOY en el patio durante el almuerzo. Ven a interactuar con uno de nuestros terapeutas del centro de salud con algo de humor al lado ¡Habrá hojas para colorear y globos!

Este viernes, YAC será anfitrión de un Almuerzo con Luna, un perro terapéutico certificado. Necesitarás un cubrebocas cuando te acerques a Luna. Habrá cubrebocas disponibles.

Ya mero llegan los anuarios! Pre-ordenen el suyo para que no se les olvide. El precio será de $65 por el libro por sí solo. Biblioteca de Churchill

La biblioteca estará cerrada el jueves por la mañana durante el primer, segundo y tercer período. Planifique con anticipación si tiene un período libre o si necesita un libro. La biblioteca estará abierta el jueves antes de la escuela, durante el almuerzo y por la tarde.

Hoy, al final del almuerzo, es la última hora para inscribirse en el Simposio de W.I.S.E.
