Clubs

Today: Art Club meets at lunch in B1; Climate Action Club meets at lunch in STEM 100; Jewish Cultural Union meets in J11 during lunch; LSU meets at lunch during F46; Theatre Tech meets at 3:45 in the auditorium

Thursday: APISU meets at lunch in F55; OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) at lunch in the library; Thespian Club meets at lunch in H8

Friday: The Divergence and Disability Alliance meets at lunch in F37; FSU meets in the auditorium at lunch; WISE meets at lunch in the STEM conference room, Dungeons and Dragons Club meets from 4:00-5:00 in J27.

Winter One-Act Festival

CHS Thespians will be presenting their annual Winter One-Act Festival this Saturday, January 27 at 7:00 PM. This will be a delightful evening filled with short-form theatre completely directed, acted, produced, and run by CHS Students! Tickets are only $5, so come and support all of these amazing students

Spring Musical Information

Make sure you attend this week’s Thespian Club Meeting so you can get all the information about auditioning for CHS Thespians’ spring musical, MEAN GIRLS. Thespian Club Meetings occur at lunch on Thursdays in Mr. Patton’s room (H8). It’ll be SO FETCH.

Japan Bowl

Japan Bowl team meeting will be held during lunch in F55 on Tuesdays. Please bring your lunch and computer.

RTEC 101 – Gateway to College & Career

RTEC 101 Gateway to College and Careers is a free, yes, free, class that is exclusively for graduating high school students or high school students dual enrolled in other college classes for winter and spring. This class is all about preparing you with all the necessary tools and resources you need to become a successful student at Lane Community College.  Flyers are up on the School-to-Career bulletin boards by the planters and in the STEM building, throughout the halls, and on the TV monitors.

ASVAB – Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery

If you are 16 or over and are interested in a career in the military, you can take the ASVAB. It’s free! The test will be offered at Churchill on Thursday, February 1st, 1:30 – 3:30 pm. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program includes a validated aptitude test and interest assessment. The results are used to guide career exploration using our career planning tools. Take the assessments, explore your options, and build your plan.

Library Announcement

It’s almost time to return or renew your textbooks. Please return your books to the library by the end of the school day on Wednesday, January 31st. Students should never give their books to their teacher or leave them in the classroom. Bring them directly to the library. If you need to use your books again in Semester 2, please stop by the library and renew them. You don’t need to have the book with you to renew it. Remember to return or renew your library books too.

Sports

Today: Freshman, JV, and Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Springfield at 4:30, 6:00, and 7:30; JV and Varsity Girls Basketball vs. Springfield at Springfield at 5:30 and 7:00.

Friday: Swimming vs. Lebanon at Lebanon at 4:00, excused at 1:30; Varsity Girls Basketball vs. Ashland at 5:30; Freshman, JV, and Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Ashland at Ashland at 4:00, 5:30 and 7:00, excused at 10:45.

Saturday: Wrestling Surmon Classic at South Albany at 10:00.
