African Fact of the Day

Mansa Musa was the ninth mansa of the Mali Empire, which reached its territorial peak during his reign. Musa is known for his wealth and gift-giving, and has sometimes been called one of the wealthiest people in history, though this claim is difficult to evaluate.

BSU

African Day is this Friday. To celebrate and show support, all students are encouraged to wear formal attire and African students are encouraged to wear traditional African clothing. Then after school in the courtyard on Friday there will be music, food and games to play!

The Yearbooks will be here any day! Pre-order yours now so you don’t miss out! The price is $65 for this year’s book by itself. If you purchased last year’s book, you get the discount bundle price of $35 for this year’s book, and if you buy last year’s and this year’s books together, you get them both for the bundled price of $100! Purchasing can be done on School Pay – avoid the hassle and do it now!

Unified Basketball Game

The Unified Basketball team will play on Thursday night at 6:30 at CHS. You won’t want to miss it!

CHS Library

The library will be closed Thursday morning during 1st, 2nd and 3rd periods. Please plan ahead if you have a free period or if you need a book. The library will be open on Thursday before school, during lunch and in the afternoon.

Advisory

Tomorrow is an Advisory schedule. Please make sure to follow the Advisory bell schedule on our website.

SENIORS! You will have an important graduation meeting on Wednesday during Advisory. Go to your Advisory for attendance, then come to the auditorium. Information on the graduation rehearsal and ceremony will be shared, as well as details on the Senior Breakfast and Grad Party. Voting for the “Best of” Awards, such as Best Smile, Best Car, etc. will be explained.

AVID 9

AVID 9 is putting on a 15th Night Fundraiser car wash on Saturday, June 4th from 10 am–1 pm. Advance tickets are on sale today-Thursday for $10 at lunch.

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The 2022 Lancer Pageant tickets are on sale now at lunch at the planters. Come join us on Friday, June 3rd at 7pm in the auditorium for a night of fun, dancing, games, and raising money for CMN. Don’t miss who will be crowned our Lancer Pageant King!

Power Tuff Football Players and Coaches

Today is the first Power Tuff practice after school from 4-6pm on the turf. The Power Tuff game has been moved to Wednesday, June 8th. All money and permission slips were due yesterday, but see Coach AJ with questions or concerns. New practice schedules are in the office.

W.I.S.E. Symposium

Hurry, the deadline to register for the 10th annual W.I.S.E. Symposium ends tomorrow after lunch. Sign up today at the planters in the student lounge or in the cafeteria and order your free T-shirt. Attend the symposium and see the Cascades Raptor Center birds and learn about how climate changes affect their habitat and food sources, plus more climate change-related workshops.

Dato afroamericano del día

Mansa Musa fue la novena mansa del imperio de Mali, el cual llegó a su cima territorial durante su reinado. A Musa se le conoce por su riqueza y tendencia a obsequiar; también ha sido llamado una de las personas más ricas de  la historia, aunque esta afirmación es difícil de evaluar.

BSU

El día afro-americano será este viernes. Para celebrar y demostrar su apoyo, se les pide que usen sus atuendos formales y se alienta a los estudiantes africanos a usar sus atuendos tradicionales. ¡También habrá comida, música y juegos después de escuela!

Ya mero llegan los anuarios! Pre-ordenen el suyo para que no se les olvide. El precio será de $65 por el libro por sí solo. Si es que compraste el anuario del año pasado, te daremos el precio descontado a $35 por el de este año y si compras el de este año y del año pasado juntos te los daremos a $100! Biblioteca de Churchill

La biblioteca estará cerrada el jueves por la mañana durante el primer, segundo y tercer período. Planifique con anticipación si tiene un período libre o si necesita un libro. La biblioteca estará abierta el jueves antes de la escuela, durante el almuerzo y por la tarde.

Jugadores y entrenadores de Fútbol americano Power Tuff

Hoy es la primera práctica de Power Tuff después de la escuela de 4 a 6 p. m. en el campo. El primer juego Power Tuff se ha trasladado al miércoles 8 de junio. Todo el dinero y los formularios de permiso vencieron ayer, pero consulte al Entrenador AJ si tiene preguntas o inquietudes. Nuevos horarios de práctica están en la oficina.

W.I.S.E. Symposium

Date prisa, la última fecha para registrarse para el décimo simposio de WISE será mañana después del almuerzo. Regístrense hoy en los maceteros dentro del edificio o en la cafetería y pida su camiseta gratis. Asista al simposio y vea las aves del Cascades Raptor Center y aprenda cómo los cambios climáticos afectan su hábitat y fuentes de alimento, además de más talleres relacionados con el cambio climático.
