Black History Month Daily Fact

February 12, 1865 – Henry Highland Garnet, the first black to speak in the Capitol, delivered a memorial sermon on the abolition of slavery at services in the House of Representatives.

Kindness Week

This week is random acts of kindness week.  Please be kind to one another and be on the lookout for random acts of kindness.

Prom

There is a prom meeting today at lunch.

Singing Valentines

Thespian Club is selling singing valentines at lunch through tomorrow. Buy one!

REV

Bring in hygiene products for REV’s Hygiene Products Drive to the boxes around school through Thursday to help our local unhoused and at-risk youth.

National Guard

A National Guard question and answer session is at lunch tomorrow in the College and Career Center. Any interested student may attend.

Volunteer Opportunities

Asian Celebration – Saturday, February 16th & Sunday, February 17th – Volunteers are needed to run Carnival Games – work a 4-hour shift and then enjoy the celebration for free.  For more information visit the College and Career Center or see the TV monitors.

Summer Employment Opportunity

If you are 15-18, love working outdoors, and need a summer job, mail a completed application to the Youth Conservation Corps office by 4:30 pm on Friday. Information and applications are available in the College and Career Center and on the table in front of the School-to-Career office.

Boys Golf

If you are interested in playing on the boys’ golf team this spring, please attend an informational meeting today at lunch in H12.
