Black Fact of the Day

Felipe Luciano, of Afro-Puerto Rican heritage, is a poet, activist, journalist, and politician.  Felipe had a huge contribution to “the awakening of the new consciousness-raising radicalism” among Puerto Ricans in New York and across the country in the late 1960s and 1970s. He is most known for producing poetry that speaks of the challenges Afro-Puerto Ricans face.

Information about the Divine Nine

Divine Nine was created by a group of Black students that attended Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The nine sororities and fraternities include Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority & Lota Phi Theta Fraternity. They all had the common goal to educate and uplift the Black community from racial inequalities.

11th-Grade Students: Computer Upgrade

Starting next week, Jake will be coming to 11th-grade classrooms to take student computers that have not been upgraded and replace them with upgraded computers. If you want to keep your student computer, you must complete the upgrade before Jake comes to your classroom. If you cannot complete the upgrade, make sure you save your files to your Google Drive before the exchange. Jake will not transfer your files for you.

All students need to complete this important student computer upgrade. Instructions for the upgrade are posted on the CHS website.

2022 Grad Party Fundraiser

Spring Sports

Register now in Family ID for spring sports. Registration is due by February 23rd.

Spring Musical Auditions

Auditions for the spring musical, The Wizard of Oz, are Tuesday, February 22 at 4 pm in the choir room. Please prepare a 60-second selection from musical theatre as your audition. Rehearsals begin February 28. Please see Mr. Patton in H8 for more details. We’re off to see the Wizard!
