Attention AP Students

If you did not attend the AP pre-administration (bubble) session last Friday you are expected to attend the session today after school in the cafeteria. We will begin promptly at 3:45 pm. If you cannot make this session you MUST see Ms. Kamens as soon as possible.

Earth Week

Stop by the Rock today to learn about Wildlife. Today’s Earth Fact: An endangered species is one whose numbers are so small that it is at risk of extinction. As many as 30-50% of all species on the planet are possibly heading toward extinction by 2050.

NHS meets today at lunch in the choir room.

Youth Action Council

The Youth Action Council is having a pizza party tomorrow from 2:30 to 4:00 in the courtyard by the rock. Drop by and connect with current YAC members about what they’ve accomplished this year.

Attention PRIDE Card Recipients

We will have a Lancer Cash exchange tomorrow during lunch at the planters.  Bring your Lancer Cash and exchange it for a special treat.

Attention Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors

There will be a brief presentation on the Evans Scholarship, a full tuition and housing scholarship earned by golf caddies who compile at least 40-80 hours of caddie work during their high school career.  If this interests you, come to F36 tomorrow at 8:35 am to learn more about this exciting opportunity.

Pacific Islanders Student Union ‘Ohana Gathering – Tomorrow – 5:30 pm in the Library

Join us for Pacific Islander food, cultural performances and information about college and career opportunities available for students after high school. Representatives from the UO will be present to answer questions about Financial Aid, College and Career advising as well as the opportunity to interact with UO Academic and Athletic Coaches. The UO Pacific Islander & Hawaii Club students will share information about the transition to college from a student’s perspective. The event is FREE and ALL students, parents, families, faculty, and staff from all of 4J are invited to attend.  Families are encouraged to bring a potluck side dish to share.

LCC Placement Testing

Seniors attending LCC in the fall, Reading and Writing placement testing is Monday, April 29th, at 3:45 pm in STEM 118. Bring your photo ID and L-number. See Mary Beth in the School-to-Career office if you have questions.

LCC Hands-On Career Day

LCC Hands-On Career Day is tomorrow. Please meet in front of the school office at 8:30 am to get on the bus. Please wear workshop appropriate clothes — close-toed shoes and long pants (non-synthetic so they won’t melt if you are in the welding workshop).

Bus Passes

May bus passes are available in the finance office with Ken.

Grad Party Tickets

Grad Party tickets will be sold today at lunch at the planters.

Prom

Court nominations for seniors & tickets will be at the planters at lunch until May 10th. Tickets are $30 with ASB, $35 without ASB, and $40 at the door.  Guest forms are available on the bulletin board in the front office and are due back by 4:00 pm the Wednesday before the dance.

Student Leadership

If you’re interested in running for a Student Leadership position, see Robin in the front office for more information and to pick up an application. Applications are due April 29th.

College & Career Center Events

Today at lunch in F39 — University of Oregon Question and Answer Session — only for students who have been accepted to UO.

Tuesday, April 30th — University of Edinburgh Admissions Visit, 8:00 am in F39. If you want to explore going to college in Scotland, this is for you.

Wednesday, May 1st — LCC Admissions Workshop for students who will attend LCC next fall. 2:15–4:15 in the STEM conference room. This is your opportunity to finish anything you need to do to be able to register for classes next fall. An admissions representative from LCC will be there to help.

Wednesday, May 1st — Graduation survey available in Naviance for seniors. Due May 6th and is a graduation requirement.

Thursday, May 2nd — Rotary Youth Exchange Overseas Study Program Question and Answer Session at lunch in F39. If you are interested in an overseas study program this is for you. All grades are welcome.
