Supports for Families

  • NAACP Food Boxes — Families needing food and some household supplies can pick up food every week from the NAACP Mim’s House (330 High Street) Wednesdays, 12:30–2:30. Identification is not needed and anyone in need can pick up food. NAACP can also provide free delivery to families’ homes. Families can sign up at NAACP Food Delivery

  • Lane African American Student Success is hosting a Black Student Parent Night on October 19, 6:00–7:00. See flyer for zoom link.

  • Centro Latino will be providing food boxes Wednesdays, 9:00–12:00. Covid testing will also be available every other Wednesday at the same time. Families can pick up at 944 W. 5th Ave.

  • Kids for the Culture is hosting free community building and education opportunities for BIPOC middle school and early high school students. See the list of activities here and students can register here.

  • Ophelia’s Place is offering virtual clubs and meetings. The schedule is linked here.

  • Centro Latino has opened their 2021 Rental Assistance Pre-Application for Latinx families. Families can fill out the registration form in Spanish or English here

  • NAACP is offering several free tutoring opportunities for students. Grades K–5: tutoring and FREE admission to the Science Center every Saturday,10:00–2:00. Grades K–5 SMART reading tutoring and grades 8–12 tutoring and Youth Council available every Saturday, 10:00–2:00 at the Mim’s House at 330 High Street.
