Black Fact of the Day
As one of the earliest permanent American settlers on Puget Sound in 1845, George Bush played a vital role in the beginnings of the Washington Territory. Bush’s story is even more remarkable because he was a man of mixed race who overcame prejudice and discrimination to succeed as one of the area’s most beloved figures.
Students & Staff
Thank you so much for making Black Excellence week so excellent. To keep the momentum going, we have a Scavenger Hunt for students and staff to participate in this week. All who complete and fill in the blanks correctly will get their names put in a raffle for a prize. Here’s what to know:
The answers to the Scavenger Hunt are posted around the building.
Follow the clues: If the important person is a writer, then check the Language Arts hall. If the important person is a historical figure, then check Social Studies hall ….etc.
All entries need to be turned in to Gene Chism’s office, F43, by the end of the day Friday to be eligible for the raffle prize.
