Graduation at a G’Lance, May 7
Churchill Class of 2021 and Families,
Student profiles for the graduation ceremony are due on Monday. Over one-third of our graduating students have not logged in to the student portal. We cannot include you if you do not log in and give your consent. Please do this over the weekend. We want all of our graduating students to be represented in the ceremony.
We are excited to celebrate all of our graduating students at the Cap and Gown Pickup and Senior Celebration on May 21. Whether or not you ordered a cap and gown, please come to this drive-through event so we can cheer for you. Portraits will be offered and each student who participates will receive one free print of their portrait when it is available.
Senior parents have been working hard to make an in-person graduation party possible for the class of 2021. Check out the event website linked in the article below.
Past issues of the Graduation at a G’Lance are posted on the Graduation! page along with a calendar of graduation events and contact information to help you along the way. Please be aware that past issues of the newsletter may contain outdated information.

Due Date for Virtual Graduation Student Profiles: May 10
Students who do not complete their student profile by **MONDAY, MAY 10** will NOT be included in the virtual graduation ceremony. Check your 4J email for your personal link to the student portal. This may be the only graduation experience we are able to provide. We want this to be a good memory for all of our students. All graduating students are strongly encouraged to participate in the virtual graduation.
Graduating students have received an email invitation from email@example.com with the subject “Welcome to your Virtual Graduation” at their 4J email address. (Early graduates received the invitation at the email address they have provided for communications.) Make sure to check your junk mail if you don’t see the invitation in your inbox.
If you did not receive the invitation, email Jill at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP!
- Read the Student Portal Guide.
- Tips for a great photo.
- Help us honor you. Please enter a phonetic spelling of your name and record yourself saying your name. This will make it easier for us to pronounce it correctly for the ceremony.
- If you’re having trouble with the student portal, you may need to clear your browser cache. Here are instructions for clearing your cache in Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
- We do not recommend using your phone. Use your school-issued student computer or a personal computer.

Seniors. Grad Party. June 10. 8-11pm. Lane Events Center – Outdoor Pavilion.
Make plans to join your classmates to celebrate your graduation. It will be an outdoor event with entertainment and prizes. There is fun to be had and memories to be made.
Bookmark the Churchill Class of 2021 Grad Party event website for updates and more information as planning continues and the event approaches. Watch for tickets to go on sale soon. The $10 ticket helps accurately track attendance and contributes to expenses.
It is sure to be a good time and an escape from Zoom to safely socialize and celebrate with your friends. A “real life,” in-person experience to put an exclamation mark at the end of a virtual senior year. Hope to see you there!

The graduation survey is still open. This VERY BRIEF survey is required for graduation. During this school year, you have shown us what resilience looks like. We are proud of the work that you have done, of the learning you have accomplished, and the strength that you have shown. This survey helps us honor your accomplishments. Information from surveys completed after the due date may not be included in the senior awards night.
Graduation Orders Have Arrived
Graduation announcements, sweatshirts, tassels, and other items ordered from Miners Graduate Services are in the front office. Students can pick them up after school at the front entrance, or come to our regular distribution events on the first and third Thursday of the month from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The next distribution event is on May 6.
Caps and gowns will arrive in May and will be distributed on May 21.
You can still order your cap and gown and graduation announcements. Your late order may be subject to late fees and product restrictions.
There are three ways to order:
- Order online at minersgrad.com.
- Fill out a paper order form. Call the Churchill front office at 541-790-5100 to schedule a time to pick up a paper order packet. Complete the order sheet and mail it to Miners Graduate Services or drop it at the Churchill office and a Miners representative will pick it up.
- Order in person at Miners Graduate Services. Call ahead to schedule your visit and submit your order at the sales office.
Questions? Call Miners Graduate Services.
Early Graduates (Graduating before June)
After you graduate, you are unenrolled from Churchill and 4J. Your contacts are removed from our communications lists and your 4J email, Google Drive, and other services that use your 4J sign-in are no longer accessible.
Walking in Graduation
Early graduates (graduating before term 3) who want to participate in the graduation ceremony and receive news and updates about graduation, please contact Jill Reents at firstname.lastname@example.org or 541-790-5112. She will add your name to the graduation checklist and your preferred contact information to a special distribution list for the Graduation at a G’Lance.
Saving your Data
Before you graduate, copy any files and data from your 4J accounts that you wish to keep to a personal device, external drive, or personal Google Drive. For instructions on using Google Takeout to download your 4J Google data, visit 4j.lane.edu/technology/ns/googletakeout.
If you are using your 4J email for your Naviance account, you must change it to a personal email to avoid losing access to Naviance.
