How to Dress for Graduation

Graduation is a ceremony. Graduates are expected to dress appropriately. Wear your cap and gown and nice clothing. You can decorate your cap with 2-D decorations that are school-appropriate. Wear shoes that are easy to walk in and protect your feet. Wear honor cords, stoles, or other regalia that you received from the school. Culturally-significant regalia, such as eagle feathers or leis, are appropriate for graduation only for students belonging to the culture.

You got this far, and you deserve to celebrate. Visit Ken in the Finance Office for help with the Senior Breakfast, scholarships for the Graduation Party are available by contacting the party organizers, and Jill can help you borrow a cap and gown from the school.

Returning Student Computers

Friday, June 10 (last day for seniors)

Turn in your computer at the station in the courtyard at lunch or after school.

Friday, June 24 (diploma pickup day)

Graduates must turn in their school computer and all technology borrowed from the school before they can pick up their diploma.

Graduates may also turn in their computers at any time in the front office.

Returning Library Books

PICK A COOL WATER BOTTLE STICKER WHEN YOU RETURN YOUR TEXTBOOK OR LIBRARY BOOK. One sticker per student per week, while supplies last.

All seniors’ library books and textbooks are due back by the end of the day on Friday, June 10th. Seniors must return all their books or pay the replacement costs for lost materials before they can pick up their diploma. We will work with you if you are experiencing financial hardship. Please contact Debbie or Jennifer in the library with questions at 541-790-5138.

Note: if you are still working on assignments for a class, you can turn in your textbook after your work is completed.

Graduation Checklist

The Graduation Checklist will be updated weekly and published here and in the front office. Students cannot pick up graduation tickets or participate in the graduation ceremony until the “ADMIN CLEAR TO WALK” column on the checklist is checked off.

Remember, you must continue to pass your current classes to remain eligible to walk. Visit the Counseling page to schedule an appointment with your counselor.

6 tickets are reserved for each graduating student. Students can request up to 8 additional tickets, which will be distributed by a lottery process.

Ticket distribution is at the CHS office during student lunch only.

Now: Ticket distribution continues

View our complete ticket distribution policy here.

For questions, email Jill at reents_ji@4j.lane.edu.

Walking Partner Signup Extended Through June 6

Walking partner slips are available in Jill’s office. Your walking partner is the person who you walk and sit beside at graduation. Each walking pair only needs to fill out one walking partner slip.

Due to the disruption at the end of the school day on June 3, walking partner requests will be accepted through Monday, June 6.

Before you Graduate: Save your School Data

When you finish your graduation requirements, you will be unenrolled and you will lose access to your 4J Gmail, Google Drive, StudentVUE, and other services that use your 4J sign-in, and your contact information will be removed from our communications lists.

Files (Google Drive): Copy any files and data that you wish to keep from your 4J accounts to a personal device, external drive, or personal Google Drive. For instructions on using Google Takeout to download your 4J Google data, visit 4j.lane.edu/technology/ns/googletakeout.

Emails and Contacts: Google Takeout (above) can save your Gmail contacts, but it will not export your emails. The easiest way to save emails from your Student Gmail account is to forward them to your personal email address.

Naviance: If you are using your 4J email address for your Naviance account, you must change it to a personal email to avoid losing access to Naviance.
