Graduation at a G’Lance, June 15
Our final graduation celebration event for the #lancerclassof2021 is this Thursday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m. We are excited to be able to celebrate your graduation together with you. You probably have a lot of questions. Here are some answers that we hope will help.
Tickets and Streaming Link
Our final ticket pickup time is tomorrow, Wednesday, June 16, 1:00–4:00 p.m.
4 tickets have been reserved for each graduate. Additional friends and family can watch the event from home at this link.
We are asking graduates to turn in all school property before we release their tickets to them. Some students are still using their school computers to finish up coursework. These students can pick up their tickets without turning in their school computers. Please turn in all school property as soon as you can after you finish your schoolwork.
If you can’t make it to the ticket distribution, your tickets will be waiting for you at the event entrance on Thursday beginning at 6:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. — Group photo and rehearsal
Because we are not having a full rehearsal, it is very important for graduates to arrive on time to receive all instructions and be ready in time for the ceremony.
6:00 p.m. — Gate opens
Guests can enter the football field and find seats. The ticket table will open for families who have not received tickets already.
6:30 p.m. — Ceremony begins
Graduates: What to wear
Wear your cap and gown over a comfortable outfit. It’s going to be warm.
Wear comfortable shoes. The turf on the football field is soft. Stiletto heels will sink into the turf. Wedges or block heels will be easier to walk in on the soft ground.
Cap decorations must be school-appropriate: no swear words, no message that is abusive or derogatory toward any person or group, and no graphic imagery. Keep it PG.
Public Health Guidelines
Masks will not be required for students, staff, or guests. Anyone who wishes to wear one is invited to do so. Parties of guests will be asked to maintain proper social distance from other parties of guests. Please respect the personal decisions and reasonable requests of other guests and staff members.
Parking at Churchill is limited. Please try to come in one vehicle if you can. Overflow parking will be available at Kennedy Middle School and a shuttle service will be provided before and after the ceremony between Kennedy and the Churchill parking lot by the STEM building.
Please reserve the parking area near the tennis courts for guests who need mobility assistance. (Refer to the event map above.) Guests may also use the ADA parking area as a dropoff location before parking elsewhere. Guests who require help with seating or ADA accommodations can ask for assistance when they arrive.
Please be respectful of nearby businesses and community members and park safely. Do not park in spaces reserved for short-term parking or a specific business. Do not block driveways or fire lanes.
The weather forecast is for sun and temperatures approaching the mid-80s. There is no natural shade on the football field. Bring a water bottle, dress appropriately, wear sunscreen or a wide-brimmed hat, and seek help if you feel overheated.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this long announcement. We hope it will help the event run smoothly for you and your family.
