Early Graduates: Important Information

Early graduates include any student who will complete their graduation requirements before Term 3 of their 12th-grade year. This may include 12th-graders who are graduating at the end of Term 1 or Term 2 as well as 11th-graders who are graduating this year.

When you finish your graduation requirements, you will be unenrolled and you will lose access to your 4J Gmail, Google Drive, StudentVUE, and other services that use your 4J sign-in, and your contact information will be removed from our communications lists.

Saving your Data

Before you graduate, copy any files and data that you wish to keep from your 4J accounts to a personal device, external drive, or personal Google Drive. For instructions on using Google Takeout to download your 4J Google data, visit 4j.lane.edu/technology/ns/googletakeout.

If you are using your 4J email address for your Naviance account, you must change it to a personal email to avoid losing access to Naviance.

Congratulations to Aceia Jones-Spade, who was awarded the National Miss Juneteenth Title in October. Aceia had previously won Miss Juneteenth Oregon. Miss Juneteenth pageants serve as both a celebration and contest in commemoration of that historic day on June 19, 1865, the day that news of the Emancipation Proclamation became known.

Aceia will receive college scholarships for her win. Read more about this incredible student, here.

FAFSA/ORSAA

If you haven’t filled out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Oregon Application for Student Aid (ORSAA), it’s time to do it now! You do not fill out both the FAFSA and the ORSAA.

The FAFSA/ORSAA are the applications to apply for federal and/or state financial aid. Many colleges and universities use the information to award their own money too. You must fill out a FAFSA if you are applying for the Oregon Promise.

Don’t put it off. Colleges, universities, and the State of Oregon have deadlines.

If you need help with the FAFSA or ORSAA, schedule an appointment with Sheree Houck using this link: chscounseling.as.me/houck

The Oregon Promise application is available now. Oregon Promise is free money from the State of Oregon to help you pay for tuition to any Oregon community college. For more information and to apply go to: https://oregonstudentaid.gov/

Request Transcripts Now!

If you are applying to a college or university whose application for admission is due in January, you MUST request any required transcripts and letters of recommendation BEFORE Winter Break. Staff will go on break too and we don’t want you to miss deadlines. You will find the directions to request transcripts and letters of recommendation here; https://blogs.4j.lane.edu/houck_s/college-application-process/. Click here for the Letter of Recommendation Information Form referenced in the directions.
