Twelve Angry Jurors

CHS Thespians heartily invite you to the grand return of theatre at Churchill with our Fall production, Twelve Angry Jurors. Twelve complete strangers have been tasked with determining the guilt or innocence of a young man accused of murdering his father. However, the guilty verdict proves to be not as sure as it seems. Our students have been working exceptionally hard and are beyond excited for a live audience. We hope to see you there!

December 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18
7:00 p.m.
Churchill High School Auditorium
Adults $10 and Students $7

Masks are required for all audience members.

Caring for School-Issued Technology during Winter Break

Winter Break is almost here. With two weeks off from classes, your student computer will need to be stored carefully to avoid damage. Remember, 4J technology guidelines do not allow students to take their school-issued computers out of the Eugene area. School computers should never travel outside of Oregon.

Your student computer and charger should be stored in a safe place, like a desk drawer, away from pets and areas of high activity.

Before returning to school please make sure your student computer is charged and ready to use. When a computer’s battery has been drained, you may see an error message saying that the clock needs to be reset. You may need to restart the computer and let it sit for 15 minutes to sync the clock. You may need to restart the computer more than once.

Finally, please review our Tips for Caring for School Laptops.

Students: Upgrade Your School Computer to macOS Mojave

All students need to upgrade their student computers to the latest version of the operating system. This is a big upgrade that may take the computer several hours to complete. Do not attempt to complete this update using a cellular signal or hotspot. Make sure your computer is in a safe place where it will not be disturbed during the upgrade. Please follow these instructions carefully: Upgrade to macOS Mojave.pdf.

Attendance

To excuse a student’s absence, please email chs_attendance@4j.lane.edu or call 541-790-5102. Absences must be excused by a parent in advance, or within two school days after the absence. If your student was marked absent or late in error, please contact the teacher directly as soon as possible to make the correction. Teachers cannot go back more than two school days to make attendance corrections.

Trips and Planned Absences

When your student will be out of the classroom for three or more days, please complete a Prearranged Absence Form. Forms are available in the front office.

Donate Old Magazines

Do you have magazines that you don’t want anymore? The graphic design classes could use them! We need magazines with lots of advertising (sports, entertainment, etc.) but not National Geographic. Please drop off magazines in the office. Thank you!

Join Climate Action Club

Climate Action Club meets on Thursdays at lunch in the Rachel Carson Room: STEM 100. Everyone is welcome to come and talk about how to be active to save our planet!
