Career Opportunities

Manufacturing Day: Churchill students have the opportunity to attend Experience Oregon Manufacturing. Students will tour wood or food manufacturing sites to learn what career opportunities are available in this industry. The bus will leave from Churchill on Friday, October 6th,  at 9 a.m. and return at 1:45 p.m.  Lunch is provided. Space is limited so sign up outside the School-to-Career office in the STEM building.

Work Study: Attention Juniors and Seniors – A Work Study position at César Chávez is now open for the 2017-2018 school year. Please bring your resume and one Churchill teacher reference to Mary Beth in the School-to-Career office in the STEM building. Work Study gives you class credit and a grade for a paid job with a local Churchill region school.

McCornack Mentors: Applications are now available to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors to be a McCornack Mentor. These positions require the student to have a free third period and skills in science and math are a plus. High School credit will be given. See Mary Beth in the School-to-Career Center for an application.

Happy Birthday

Zach Cooper

Zach Cooper, a fellow Lancer, recently suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed in his left side. After 3 brain surgeries he is now on his long road to recovery. If you are able to help support Zach and his family, students are carrying around donation buckets, a donation bucket is in the front office, or you can donate to his go fund me website at www.gofundme.com/moola4zach.

A representative from Northwest Christian University will be here today at 12:15. Interested students should request to leave early from their 3rd period teacher and report to F39, the conference room. Attendance at the presentation will be taken.

Attention Seniors Interested in Attending Lane Community College

Placement testing in reading, sentence skills, and math will be offered today after school in STEM 118. Students must have an L-number and bring their photo ID. If you don’t have an L-number, please see Mary Beth in the School-to-Career office in the STEM building as soon as possible.

Due to the poor air quality index being over 150 our Freshmen Friday activities for this afternoon have been postponed for a future date.
